My girlfriend is 26 yrs old and has had some extreme stomach pains for 7 months. The doctors told her she had a hyperactive gallbladder and removed it 6 months ago. The pain is still there. She cries at night and has gone into a state of depression. She can only work 1-2 days a week due to the pain. She has had every test that could be done and still doctors and surgeons are scratching their heads. She also has Endometriosis and the doctors think that might be what is causing some of her discomfort. She is not covered under any type of insurance and every time she applies for any type of assistance, they turn her down because they say she earns too much money. They are going by income that she earned at the begining of last year. Now she only brings in $600.00/month at the most, yet she is still turned down. The medical expenses are well over $40,000.00. and they say they will not do surgery to get rid of the Endo unless she has money up front.
Is there any type of grant or assistance program that could help her? Any information at all would be a godsend. Thank you!
